Mario Bros. Cake

As usual my pictures are anything but great, but I wanted to share this cake. This is a Mario Bros. Cake that I was ordered and I think it came out pretty cute. I have to admit I love this giant Piranha!

Check out the mushroom and and fire flower here, pretty cool.
Next, we have a Goomba!

And here's a mini Piranha, watch out!

I didn't have time to take a picture of the entire cake, but you get the gist of it. Hope you enjoyed it!

  1. This cake is incredibly cute. You doubt your photography skills, but I assure you that this is fantastic! Do you make your fondant or buy from TIPS? I assume the former, as your cakes are so lovely, but just thought I'd ask.

  2. Hi Jelli Bean! Thank you for the compliments! As for the fondant, well it really depends on the situation. For cakes I usually use the premade stuff because it's easier but for details like in my cupcakes and cookies I like to make my own marshmallow fondant, it just tastes so much better!

  3. OMG... this cake is amazing. Especially because I'm a true Mario Bros. fan (and still play it at home with the fam). My husband walked by the computer and couldn't believe it.
    Great job.

  8. I am going to attempt a Mario Cake...yours looks fantastic. I did wonder tho...is there some type of glue (edible of course)that should be or could be used to make the fondant stay on the cake when using fondant on top of fondant or piecing figures togeter? Thank you much and sooooo in awe over your mario cake. Thank you for sharing

  9. Hi there! The normal "glue" when using fondant is water. Yep, water, it makes everything stick together! Be sure to use a moderate amount or else you will get a big mushy mess. You can also try to use royal icing if you are sticking a large figure atop your cake. Good luck!
